Rite Aid Foundation Announces KidCents Program And Names Speech And Language Development Center As One Of Its Inaugural Charities
BUENA PARK, Calif., Nov. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Rite Aid Foundation presented a $10,000 KidCents grant to Speech and Language Development Center (SLDC). The check was presented to SLDC at the Rite Aid pharmacy in Seal Beach. In addition to the grant, SLDC will participate in the KidCents "change round up program." Rite Aid customers participate by logging in with their Wellness cards at: www.kidcents.com and naming the participating charity they want to support. The next time the customer shops at Rite Aid, their purchase will be rounded up to the nearest dollar and their change will be designated to their charity.
"We are thrilled to be able to participate in The Rite Aid Foundation's KidCents program. Our school and therapy center serves children and young adults, six months through 21 years who have special needs. We've been called the best kept secret in Southern California but we want people to know about SLDC and this helps raise awareness while also supporting our mission," SLDC CEO Dawn O'Connor said.
SLDC is one of 204 inaugural KidCents charities, which were selected by Rite Aid associates across the country. Each will receive a $10,000 KidCents grant, totaling over $2 million in donations from The Rite Aid Foundation. Since its inception in 2001, The Rite Aid Foundation has awarded more than $17 million to nonprofit organizations, and Rite Aid has partnered with its customers to raise and donate $65 million to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals across the country.
