NEW YORK, Sept. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Rita Tuzon, executive vice president and general counsel for Fox Networks Group, has been named honorary co-chair for the 29th Annual NAMIC Conference. Presented by the National Association for Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) as part of the cable industry's Diversity Week, the NAMIC Conference is scheduled for September 29-30, 2015 at the New York Marriott Marquis in New York City.

In her longstanding role as executive vice president and general counsel, Tuzon is heavily involved in business operations and strategic thinking for FNG, while supervising business and legal affairs for Fox Networks Group's broadcast, cable and digital properties including Fox Broadcasting Company, Fox Networks, FOX Sports Media Group and Fox Digital Media. Also managed under Tuzon's purview are several business operations units, including standards and practices and human resources. In 2012 Tuzon added responsibility for worldwide business and legal affairs for Fox International Channels, with regional operations in Asia, Europe and Latin America.
Tuzon joined Fox in 1997 as senior vice president of Litigation for Fox Group, where she managed litigation affecting many of Fox Entertainment Group's key companies, including 20th Century Fox Television, Fox Television Studios, Fox Television Stations, Fox Cable Networks and Twentieth Television. She was formerly a partner at a major entertainment law firm representing industry clients prior to joining Fox.
Tuzon was named Variety's Legal Impact Counsel of the Year for 2015 and is a class of 2010 Multichannel News Wonder Woman. In 2009 she was honored as ACCA Pro Bono Counsel of the Year. Tuzon has been listed multiple times among the Cablefax Most Influential Minorities in Cable, Women in Cable and Executives in Cable. Serving on boards for the National Geographic Channels and the BTN Sports Network, Tuzon also sits on several education-related organization boards and is a former president and current member of the executive board of the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles.
