Ridgecrest Charter School to Rally, Dance for School Choice
RIDGECREST, Calif., Jan. 16, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Hundreds of Ridgecrest Charter School students and staff members will gather for a pep rally featuring a performance of the official National School Choice Week dance from 7:55 to 8:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 23.
Ridgecrest Charter School students will also celebrate educational choice by creating posters describing why they love their school. Throughout the week, staff will share reflections on why they are part of the Ridgecrest Charter School community and family statements on school choice will be featured in the school's newsletter.
This event is planned to coincide with the history-making celebration of National School Choice Week 2019, which will feature more than 40,000 school choice events across all 50 states.
"We will use this week to highlight the fact that students, staff, and parents are here because they choose to be," said Miriam Hogg, assistant director at Ridgecrest Charter School. "We want to celebrate their reasons why all week."
Ridgecrest Charter School is a public school serving grades TK to 8 with a student enrollment of 500.
As a nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort, National School Choice Week shines a positive spotlight on effective education options for students, families, and communities around the country.
