Ricoh unveils brighter, sharper line of projectors for business and education
New models, including Ricoh's first HD projector, expand options for increasing communications in meeting rooms and classrooms
MALVERN, Pa., May 18, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Ricoh today announced seven new projectors that fit into a wide range of business and education applications. This new lineup includes Desk Edge, Short Throw, and Standard Install models that help businesses and schools collaborate more effectively in today's dynamic communications environment.
"Our projection technology has evolved rapidly to offer customers a wide range of features and solutions," said Matt Sakauchi, Vice President, Visual Communications Group, Ricoh Americas Corporation. "These new projectors are brighter, easier to position, and offer greater connectivity to bring participants together for better, more effective information sharing sessions."
The new systems – which will be on display during InfoComm 2015, June 17-19 in Orlando, FL at Ricoh's booth #4043 – include:
- A short-throw projection system capable of displaying an image between 60 – 400 inches diagonal at a resolution of up to WXGA from 24" – 169.6". Ideal for mounting in education settings, the new RICOH PJ X4241N and RICOH PJ WX4241N series enables an instructor to stand in front of a screen without casting a shadow or being blinded by glare. Presenters can use an optional electronic pen to mark up the image or drive the device (PC, laptop, etc.) that is projecting the image. This de facto interactive whiteboard system can be part of an online interactive conference involving more than 160 people.
The series includes improved brightness over predecessor models at 3,300 lumens. A new 360-degree installation capability makes it easy to project images onto floors and ceilings for striking presentations or marketing experiences. Standard Miracast functionality creates a peer-to-peer wireless connection enabling the projector to display content directly from Microsoft Windows and Android mobile devices. Standard wireless and Wi-Fi connectivity on the PJ WX4241N, a first for Ricoh, enables users to simultaneously operate the device from either network, especially helpful for hosting guest presenters. Other new features include 4-point Keystone correction, MPEG4 files played back from a USB drive, and WPA2-Enterprise security. - A new desk-edge system designed to be placed on the end of a conference room table, which frees up working surface and directs heat, glare, wires and fan sounds away from the participants. The RICOH PJ X3351N and RICOH PJ WX3351N are capable of projecting an image 40 - 400-inches diagonal from a distance of 30.3" – 481.9" at a resolution of up to WXGA. Ideal for business, the portable systems are brighter than predecessor models at 3,500 lumens and include the same 360-degree, Miracast, wired/wireless connectivity and wireless security as the new short-throw models.
- A new line of brighter Standard Install projectors, including Ricoh's first HD projector. Designed for small-to-mid-sized conference rooms, the RICOH PJ X5460, RICOH PJ WX5460 and RICOH PJ HD5450 projectors display images up to 300-inches diagonal at a resolution of up to 1080p. Full HD is ideal for engineering designs, spreadsheets, and other detailed documents where high resolution is critical.
The systems project their bright crisp images with an output of up to 4,100 lumens, higher than their predecessors, and offer a lamp life of up to 4,000 hours (Eco mode). Like the short-throw and desk-edge systems, these projectors offer keystone correction to rectify image distortion, as well as automatic brightness control and energy-saving standby mode. All of the new systems have 10-watt speakers and support 3D content with optional glasses.
The projection systems are available now.
