Ricoh receives recognition at leading industry annual awards dinner
THE CANNATA REPORT names Ricoh 'MFP Manufacturer of the Year,' honors former Chairman & CEO with Lifetime Achievement Award
MALVERN, Pa., Oct. 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Ricoh Americas Corporation today announced it was named the MFP Manufacturer of the Year by THE CANNATA REPORT, published by Marketing Research Consultants LLC, which also honored former Ricoh Americas Chairman & CEO Katsumi "Kirk" Yoshida with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
The awards were presented at THE CANNATA REPORT's 28th Annual Awards and Charities Dinner held on October 16 at the Park Savoy in Florham Park, NJ. This year's event brought imaging and document solutions industry dealers and manufacturers together who raised and pledged a total of more than $130,000 for the MaryAnn Ingoglia Memorial Grant for Leukemia Research at Hackensack University Medical Center. Since 1997, THE CANNATA REPORT, along with imaging and document solutions industry dealers, has raised approximately $1.2 million for various charities.
Senior Vice President of Marketing Dominic Pontrelli accepted the award for MFP Manufacturer of the Year on behalf of Ricoh. The distinction was given based on responses to THE CANNATA REPORT's 28th Annual Dealer Survey where 255 dealers provided feedback on which manufacturer they believe provides the best multifunction products (MFPs).
"For many years our dealers have been at the forefront of our business, helping to solve customers' business challenges while serving as ambassadors of the Ricoh brand," said Pontrelli. "It is a great honor for Ricoh to be recognized by the dealer community with this MFP Manufacturer of the Year award as their continued collaboration with us is critical to making information work for our customers."
THE CANNATA REPORT also presented Kirk Yoshida with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Beginning his career at Ricoh Company, Ltd. in 1967, Yoshida dedicated a total of 18 years to Ricoh's U.S. business between 1973 and 2009, including five years as Chairman & CEO of Ricoh Americas Corporation (1998-2002 and 2008-2009). Retiring from Ricoh in 2012, Yoshida received this award from substantial recommendations by dealers and was ultimately chosen by THE CANNATA REPORT for the significant impact he made on the industry.
