Ricoh named a 'Leader' in U.S. networked MFP MarketScape Analysis by IDC
'The company has demonstrated strengths in all of the key factors identified by the MarketScape to ensure MFP market success'
WEST CALDWELL, N.J., Aug. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Ricoh Americas Corporation today announced it has been ranked as a "Leader" by IDC in the research firm's just-released "IDC MarketScape: U.S. Shared, Networked Multifunction Peripherals for the Distributed Office – 2012 Vendor Analysis (doc #235820, July 2012)."
Considered one of the key comparative analyses of multifunction peripheral (MFP) vendors in the U.S. marketplace, this research ranks vendors based on their products, strategies and customer experience.
According to IDC Vice President Keith Kmetz, Ricoh has a broad product portfolio, solid market share, pricing that fits customer requirements and good reviews from its customers. "Those attributes, combined with a solutions/services model to drive value-added differentiation, are the reasons Ricoh was deemed a 'Leader' in this year's report," he said.
Recent Ricoh advances that contributed to its ranking include:
- Ricoh's "services-led, technology-enabled" business strategy;
- a newly unveiled collection of MFPs based on a new technology platform leveraging the Web, cloud and mobility;
- a value proposition that goes beyond hardware performance to encompass total cost of ownership, sustainability, security, compliance and process improvement; and
- tailored solutions for vertical industries such as legal, health care and the public sector.
Ricoh is aggressively evolving its service strategy with Business Information Solutions, an approach that directly addresses customer challenges such as globalization, increasingly mobile employees, new generational work styles, information overload, mounting cost pressures and IT infrastructure upheaval. The MarketScape report cites a customer that estimates it will save between $2 million to $4 million over the next four years through a Ricoh Managed Document Services approach.
"We're grateful that IDC has recognized the power of our strategy and ability to deliver on it," said Dominic Pontrelli, Senior Vice President of Business Development for Ricoh Americas Corporation. "This strategy is based entirely on helping our customers meet their most important business challenges in a rapidly changing world through a focus on information input, processing and output. The goal is ultimately helping the right person make the right business decision every time."
