Ricoh and EFI Win Industry Certification for Excellence in Color Production Printing
Ricoh Pro C901/C901s Graphic Arts Edition Meets IDEAlliance Standards for Color, Print Properties and Print Production
WEST CALDWELL, N.J., Dec. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Ricoh Americas Corporation, a leading provider of digital office equipment and advanced document management solutions and services, has achieved certification from IDEAlliance for the Ricoh® Pro C901/C901s Graphic Arts Edition, signifying that the color production printing system, coupled with EFI Fiery print servers, meets or exceeds established industry tolerances for excellence in colorimetric accuracy, repeatability, durability and registration. This independent verification, from the leading standards body for production printing and other digital media processes, complements Ricoh's signature quality, reliability and service on the Pro C901/C901s.
"When customers see the IDEAlliance certification seal next to the EFI and Ricoh names, they know they're looking at systems that have been put through rigorous testing and evaluation against the real-world quality measures that printing professionals and consumers demand," said Steven Bonoff, Executive Vice President Marketing at IDEAlliance.
The Ricoh Pro C901/C901s Graphic Arts Edition is engineered to deliver exceptional quality and performance for the most demanding production print environments. It combines consistent 1200 dpi output with 90 pages-per-minute speed, regardless of media type or weight, even when duplexing. It delivers near-offset results with Ricoh's PxP™ chemical toners and oil-free fusing technology. Smaller, more uniform toner particles deliver sharper images and better fills with a matte finish for commercial-quality output.
The certified system included EFI's Fiery E-41 and E-81 print servers, which target a wide range of production printing environments from light production to extreme, mission-critical printing environments where advanced color management, high productivity and speed are essential for success. The Fiery E-41 and E-81 servers include advanced hardware and Fiery System 9 Release 2 software.
"The Ricoh Pro C901/901s demonstrates how customers can benefit from Fiery's versatility, speed and reliable performance," said John Henze, Vice President of Fiery marketing at EFI. "EFI and Ricoh achieved certification in the areas of color, press sheet properties and print production, giving customers an extra level of assurance when making an investment decision."
The certification demonstrates Ricoh's commitment to independently documenting the performance and quality of its production printing systems, which played a significant role earlier this year in Heidelberg's addition of the Ricoh Pro C901 Graphic Arts Edition to its portfolio of production products.
"The Digital Press Certification from IDEAlliance on the Pro C901/C901s Graphic Arts Edition reinforces what the market has already realized, which is that the Pro C901/C901S produces consistent, accurate and predictable color," said Tim Vellek, Vice President, for Ricoh's Production Printing Business Group (PPBG). "Our production customers should expect nothing less than that in their Ricoh investment."
