VERNON HILLS, Ill., Oct. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Richard Wolf Medical Instruments Corporation introduces the smallest bipolar resectoscope available in gynecology, the Princess (21 Fr expandable to 24.5 Fr) crosses even the narrowest cervix with ease. Its petite, atraumatic profile requires less dilation and significantly less resistance during insertion. With its small dimensions, the Princess is ideal for fertility and sterility patients as well as cases of cervical stenosis

A new rotatable feature allows physicians to freely move the working end of the Princess without changing the position of the shaft inside the patient, resulting in more comfortable and efficient procedures. The smaller loop removes tissue more precisely and inflicts less thermal damage.
Unlike standard resectoscopes that are limited to either monopolar or bipolar energy, the Princess uses unique cutting-edge hybrid technology which allows for either energy with a switch of a cable. Its bipolar capability opens the door to saline as a solution to irrigate the cavity reducing the potential for hyponatremia.
"The Princess expands the clinician's options and enhances the patient's comfort," said Monica Sanders, Corporate Director of Marketing for Richard Wolf. "It provides flexibility and enhanced capabilities for physicians while improving patient care and recovery times. These are the hallmarks of Richard Wolf technology."
From start to finish, the Princess expands the clinician's options and enhances the patient's comfort.
