Richard Schierburg Begins Tenure as Chair of National Jewish Health Board of Directors
DENVER, Jan. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- National Jewish Health welcomed new leadership on January, 25, 2012, as Richard A. Schierburg began his tenure as Chair of the Board of Directors. He succeeds outgoing chair, Thomas Gart, who will continue to serve on the Board.

Schierburg, a veteran developer and investment broker, has founded several companies, including most recently Peregrine Group Development LLC, a land development, retail and multi-family development firm. He began his career as an investment broker at CB Richard Ellis. Schierburg earned a bachelor's degree from Seattle University, and attended both Stanford University and University of Colorado Master of Business Administration programs.
Schierburg joined the National Jewish Health Board in 2004, and has served as chair of the institution's Development Board, and as a member of the Executive, facilities and real estate committees. Schierburg is also board chair of Archdiocesan Housing, and is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the International Council of Shopping Centers and the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks. Schierburg and his wife, Linda, have two grown children.

Gart, president of The Gart Companies, joined the Board of Directors in 1995, and was appointed Chair in 2009. Previously he had served on the Finance and Investment committees. Mr. Gart will remain on the board, serving on the executive committee and leading capital fundraising efforts.
