Richard Friedson Joins JCJ Architecture as Part of Boston Office Expansion
JCJ Poised to Become Education Powerhouse
BOSTON, Sept. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- JCJ Architecture today announced the addition of Richard Friedson, Design Principal, as part of the company's continued expansion of its Boston office. From Boston, Friedson and JCJ Principal, Greg Smolley, will oversee several new project assignments in the region, building on the office's expertise in higher education, athletic complexes, public assembly, K-12 and public projects.
"Richard Friedson brings more than 35 years of experience to the JCJ family and will lead the firm's higher education practice," said Peter Stevens, JCJ's president. Friedson has planned and designed projects in 22 states; earning awards for architecture, planning and urban design throughout his career. He is a member of the Boston Society of Architects, the American Institute of Architects and the Society of College and University Planners. JCJ has operated in Boston for more than three years and has been actively involved with local and regional organizations, clients and projects throughout New England over the course of its 75-year history. Recent JCJ projects in northern New England include Portsmouth Middle School (Portsmouth, NH), South Berwick Library (South Berwick, ME) and Black Bear Casino Resort (Oxford, ME). Within the last year, JCJ has also added several Boston area projects to its roster, including Glover Elementary School (Marblehead, Mass.), Norton High School (Norton, Mass.) and Elmer S. Bagnall Elementary School (Groveland, Mass.), among others.
