WASHINGTON, Jan. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- FP1 Strategies LLC today announced the addition of Richard Cullen as vice president. Cullen most recently served as press secretary to Congressman Ben Quayle, a high-profile freshman member of the 112th Congress.
Prior to joining Quayle's staff, Cullen was the special assistant to Majority Leader Eric Cantor (then Republican Whip) before joining his press office as communications coordinator. Cullen also did political work for the National Republican Senatorial Committee during the 2010 cycle and worked closely with FP1 founder Terry Nelson and former NRSC Political Director Chris LaCivita.
Cullen came to Washington in the summer of 2007 after graduating from Furman University and joined Politico as the assistant to the editor-in-chief and executive editor. He eventually became a reporter for the publication and produced video content including Politico Playback.
Cullen will join the newly formed DC-based firm that brings together three highly-respected and well-known professionals.
Terry Nelson is one of the most influential political operatives in the nation's capital, having played senior roles in numerous political and public affairs campaigns.

FP1 Strategies offers a host of services, including: public affairs campaign management, grassroots coalition building and management, paid advertising, media placement, press relations, crisis communication expertise, public opinion research and targeting, and new media and online grassroots advocacy.
"Richard Cullen is an up and comer in Washington and has already achieved quite a bit in a short period of time," said Terry Nelson. "He will be a valuable member of the FP1 Strategies team and we are very fortunate he has joined."
Danny Diaz said, "Richard's background on the Hill, in journalism and in politics will be meaningful to our clients. He is a great addition to the firm and we look forward to achieving greater success going forward."
