PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Representatives of media outlets are invited to attend the Richard Allen New Generation (RANG), second Annual "Christmas Comes to North Philly" event, on Friday, December 21, 2017, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., at the Spring Garden School, 1146 Melon Street. In addition, RANG members will provide a full-course Holiday Dinner and gifts to senior residents at the Gladys B. Jacobs Manor, 1100 Fairmount Avenue on Saturday December 22, at 1:00pm.
About 170 Kindergarten-through-4th-grade students, who attend the Spring Garden School, will receive toys and other gifts from Santa Claus, on Friday.
About 80 senior residents of the Gladys B. Jacobs Manor will be hosted by RANG, on Saturday.
Both programs are being sponsored by Richard Allen New Generation (RANG), a Registered Community Organization (RCO) that provides support to neighbors within a community that extends from Girard Avenue south, to Spring Garden Street, and from Broad Street, east, to Eighth Street. The area is comprised of 3700 persons, approximately 70 percent of whom are African Americans.
