TULSA, Okla., May 1, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Decades ago, the best barbecue joint in town was often found in remote shacks and roadside trailers. RibCrib had similar humble beginnings when founder, Bret Chandler started up with little more than a shack and a smoker in Tulsa in 1992. The menu was simple: a choice of five hickory-smoked meats and two homestyle sides.
Over the years, Bret crafted and re-crafted his recipe, entered barbecue championships, learned from every pitmaster he met, and honed in on a new vision for serving the community and his growing line of customers in a clean, family-friendly environment without sacrificing quality meats or hickory-smoked flavor.
Today, RibCrib has grown to more than 60 restaurants in seven states, including 32 locations across its home state of Oklahoma. The PigMen competition team has been named Grand Champions and Reserve Grand Champions several competitions and received countless top-ten finishes, including the prestigious American Royal World Series.
Many of the original team members are still employed at RibCrib having remained loyal to Bret and dedicated to the RibCrib's pursuit of barbecue perfection. Collectively, RibCrib's seasoned employees have more than 250 years of barbecue experience.
"Twenty-five years is a proud milestone for our team," said Bret. "This would not have been possible without our shared vision for serving customers mouthwatering barbecue without having to pull over on the side of the road or go off the beaten path. Our food has been more art than science, and we are always chasing barbecue perfection."
On May 6, the official anniversary, RibCrib is offering $.99 ribs. RibCrib is also treating mothers to a free dessert on Mother's Day weekend, May 12-14.
