RG Barry Shareholders Re-Elect Four Directors

PICKERINGTON, Ohio, Nov. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Shareholders of R.G. Barry Corporation (Nasdaq:DFZ) Friday re-elected four directors, supported management's recommendation for executive compensation and ratified the reappointment of its independent public accounting firm during the Company's annual meeting held at its suburban Columbus, Ohio headquarters.

Directors Nicholas DiPaolo, Janice Page, Harvey Weinberg and Company President and Chief Executive Officer Greg Tunney were each re-elected to two-year terms on the accessories marketer's eight-member board.

Mr. DiPaolo is the former Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Bernard Chaus Inc. Ms. Page is a former Senior Group Vice President of Sears, Roebuck and Co. Mr. Weinberg is the executive Chairman of the Board Optimer Inc. Mr. Tunney has served as RG Barry's President and Chief Executive Officer since 2006.

Shareholders also approved an advisory vote on management's recommendation for fiscal 2013 executive compensation and on the reappointment for fiscal 2013 of KPMG LLP as the Company's independent public accountants.

Following the shareholder votes, Tunney discussed the Company's record fiscal 2012 performance, for which it reported consolidated top-line growth of about 20% and a consolidated net earnings improvement of 93%. He also talked about the Company's vision of growing into a leading provider of many kinds of branded accessories.

"For us to perform at a very high level in the future we're going to have to answer the questions, 'How do we make our great brands even better?' and, 'How do we acquire more great brands?'
