RFID Journal Introduces Internet of Things Conference
The new event will be co-located with RFID Journal LIVE! 2015, which will be held on April 16-17, in San Diego, California
NEW YORK, Nov. 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- RFID Journal announced today that it is launching a new Internet of Things Conference (rfidjournalevents.com/iot), to be co-located with RFID Journal LIVE! 2015 (rfidjournalevents.com/live), the world's premier conference and exhibition focused on radio frequency identification (RFID) and its many business applications. The Internet of Things Conference will focus on helping companies use IoT technologies to:
- Add value to their products
- Engage consumers in new and exciting ways
- Gather data about environmental conditions
- Create enhanced service-level agreements
- Develop new business models
- And much more
The IoT Conference will be held on April 16-17, and will feature leading end users of Internet of Things technologies, as well as several leading providers of IoT solutions. It will also feature an IoT pavilion in the LIVE! exhibit hall.
"Clearly, companies are looking for ways to connect their products, assets and environments to the Internet, in order to add value and improve their operations," said Mark Roberti, RFID Journal's founder and editor. "RFID and IoT technologies are complementary, so we believe there will be a lot of synergy between the two events."
The IoT Conference will cover the technologies required to connect "things" to the Internet, including ZigBee radios, Wi-Fi, machine-to-machine software and cloud computing, as well as applications across many industries. Speakers will address both business-to-consumer and business-to-business applications.
IoT technologies are evolving rapidly, and it's not just high-tech firms, such as Apple and Google, that are leading the way. Established industrial companies like GE Aircraft Engines and Trane are using such technologies to enable their products to report on their performance, thereby improving efficiencies and lowering costs.
Attendees can register for the Internet of Things Conference separately and visit the RFID Journal LIVE! exhibit hall, or they can opt for an All-Access Pass entitling them to attend sessions at either event. "This really is a unique opportunity for companies to hear from other end users about the value that IoT technologies can deliver today," said Mary Catherine O'Connor, the editor of Internet of Things Journal, RFID Journal's new website devoted to IoT technologies.
Those registering early will be able to save more than $300 off regular rates. For additional information regarding the Internet of Things Conference or RFID Journal LIVE! 2015, please visit the events' websites, rfidjournalevents.com/iot and rfidjournalevents.com/live.
