CABOT, Vt., June 18, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- In less than one month, Cabot Creamy Cooperative will announce the Grand Prize winners for Reward Volunteers 3.0, a free computer widget and mobile app for iPhone, which enables individuals and organizations to track the time they spend volunteering in their communities. Since the third phase of Reward Volunteers began in January, Cabot has rewards dozens of volunteers for their hard work with a variety of prizes, including cash, vacations, gift baskets, and more.

"So far, we've rewarded volunteers with dozens of prizes worth tens of thousands of dollars," says Jen Neary, Cabot Director of Marketing & Integrated Services. "But the best is still yet to come. On July 14, in addition to handing out even more spectacular vacations, cash prizes, and gift baskets, we will also honor one selfless volunteer and a guest with an all-expense-paid Southern Caribbean Cruise for two."
During the past four months, the combined efforts of Rewards Volunteers participants totaled nearly 26,000 hours of volunteer work, benefiting 754 non-profit organizations across the United States.
"Reward Volunteers is easy and intuitive to use," Neary said. "Participants download the Reward Volunteers iPhone app or use the web widget to log activity and encourage friends to get involved by sharing on Facebook or via email. Participants are also able to take pictures using the iPhone app and share them on Facebook. The more hours users log for the organizations of their choice, the more Reach points they'll earn, which equals more opportunities for them and the organizations they serve to win cash and prizes. They can also earn Reach points by sharing their activity on Facebook or via email. The more "likes" and comments their posts receive, the more Reach points they earn."
Prizes are awarded each month, from February through June, with Grand Prizes being awarded in July. The list of amazing prizes include: cash for individuals and organizations; gift cards from National Cooperative Grocers Association, King Arthur Flour, and Dakin Farm; Keurig Coffee Machines with a year supply of Green Mountain Coffee; Cabot Cheddar Gift Baskets; Farm Family Gift Baskets; shoes from Dansko; and much more. Grand Prize Winners will receive big cash prizes, super-sized Cabot Farm Family Gift Baskets, Vermont Ski Passes, and fabulous vacation packages to Liberty Hill Farm, Emergo Farms, Couture Farm, Smugglers Notch, Mountain View Inn, and Escobar's Inn. The Grand Prize winner and a guest will join more than 30 other Community Celebrities aboard the 2014 Cabot Community Celebrity Cruise. They will be honored on an all-expense-paid, six-day, seven-night, Caribbean cruise onboard Celebrity Cruises® SUMMIT - all courtesy of the farm families of Cabot Creamery Cooperative.
May's volunteers racked up more than 6,333 hours for more than 268 organizations.
"I've really enjoyed using the Reward Volunteers app," says Elise Sauer, a volunteer at Camp PARC, who won a Keurig Machine and a year supply of Green Mountain Coffee. "I've found that using the app is a nice way to spend some time reflecting on the good work of the many wonderful organizations in my community. Thank you!"
Reward Volunteers was conceived and created by Cabot Creamery Cooperative, and is sponsored by AARP Create the Good, All for Good, Marriott, Co+op Stronger Together, Hope for Women, Points of Light, Full Circle, and Volunteer Spot.
