Revel Systems iPad POS Announces Revel Scholars Program to Invest in Next Generation of Entrepreneurship
Unique program will offer two $10,000 scholarships, mentorship and guidance from Revel's co-founders to aspiring entrepreneurs
SAN FRANCISCO, March 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Revel Systems, the world's leading iPad Point of Sale platform, today announced the Revel Scholars Program, which will award two $10,000 scholarships for the 2015/2016 school year to current high school and/or college students interested in entrepreneurship, and provide the winners with personal mentorship and guidance by Revel co-founders Lisa Falzone and Chris Ciabarra. The scholarship funds will apply to the winners' accredited college or university tuition.
While the majority of scholarships focus on providing students with financial assistance, the Revel Scholars Program also offers unique mentorship and access to Revel's key executive team. In addition to receiving a scholarship towards their tuition, the two students selected for the Revel Scholars program will meet in-person with Falzone and Ciabarra throughout the year for professional counsel and guidance, and will have phone and email access to reach their mentors.
The Revel Scholars program follows Revel's November 2014 announcement of $100 million in Series C funding and underscores the company's commitment to invest in the future business leaders of tomorrow. Mentorships played a key role in guiding both Falzone and Ciabarra's career paths as entrepreneurs, and the executives want to provide students the same type of influential relationships they benefitted from.
"Revel Systems creates an end-to-end solution for entrepreneurs from entrepreneurs. Our product makes it easier for people to start businesses and grow them. It is the American Dream in a Box. The Revel Scholars program is in line with our mission and is an ideal opportunity for us to give back and help others achieve phenomenal success," said Lisa Falzone, CEO and co-founder of Revel Systems.
Additional details and eligibility criteria for the Revel Scholars Program include:
- One scholarship will be open to female applicants only and will pair the winner with CEO and co-founder Lisa Falzone as a mentor.
- The other scholarship is open to either male or female applicants and will pair the winner with CTO and co-founder Chris Ciabarra as a mentor.
