Revel Systems Becomes First iPad POS Ready Solution for Apple Pay Technology
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Revel Systems, the leader in iPad Point of Sale Solutions, today announced it is Apple Pay ready by Chase, and will accept Apple Pay payments via Chase Paymentech. After Apple introduced Apple Pay alongside the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on September 9th, Revel received dozens of inbound customer requests for integration with the new technology.
Apple Pay is available for preorder on the Revel iPad POS, and will begin shipping in October at $499 per device. This will give users time to purchase the iPhone 6 and 6 plus, as this new technology is only available on the latest iPhones. Revel users can authenticate device usage via Apple's thumbprint technology, tokenization and the NFC Technology, branded Apple Pay. Once the iPhone is authenticated, the device will communicate to the Revel POS with NFC technology. This data is then sent to Chase Paymentech, which performs the transaction and sends verification of the transaction back to the Revel POS. The transaction will be a seamless tap on the NFC device while finger in on thumb sensor on the iPhone.
Since Apple released Apple Pay on Tuesday September 9th Revel has received dozens of inbound calls regarding the technology. There are currently six companies that work with Apple Pay, including:
To begin utilizing Apple Pay, Revel clients are required to create an account with Chase. This will work independently from the customer's merchant account unless he or she wishes to use Chase as their merchant account as well. Revel will allow the end user (the merchant) to decide which merchant account is best for their business. Revel's versatile and flexible platform is a major reason its customers are signing on.
"Apple has a long way to ensure mass adoption, but where others have failed, Apple will succeed," said Chris Ciabarra, CTO and co-founder of Revel Systems. "The mobile payment industry is long overdue for innovation, and Apple is leading the way with Apple Pay-- we're thrilled with the endless possibilities it will bring to the point of sale space."
Becoming Apple Pay ready with Chase Paymentech is part of Revel's plan to heighten payment flexibility for customers. In addition to being Apple Pay Ready, customers can integrate with other forms of digital payments including PayPal, Bitcoin, Levelup, virtual Gift Cards and others.
