HOUSTON, July 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Reveal Energy Services announces today the company is enhancing IMAGE Frac™ pressure-based fracture maps with a new platform that uses parallel processing with rigorous algorithms to determine fracture geometry for large, complex pad operations in multiple zones. The company is demonstrating IMAGE Frac technology during the Unconventional Resources Technology Conference (URTeC) July 23-25 at the George R. Brown Convention Center.
The platform enables the company's geoscientists and completion engineers to rapidly and consistently compute 3D fracture map geometry of half-length, height, asymmetry, and azimuth without interpretation subjectivity, vital for operators to lower multizone completion cost and increase production.
This improvement to rapidly process very large projects, providing fracture geometry and other fracture attributes on several hundred to thousands of frac stages, lets operators take full advantage of the advances in machine learning and improve the predictability of their completion design performance.
"By continually developing our technology, we are enabling operators to extract further statistical data insight that leads to more meaningful and informed decisions that increase hydraulic fracturing efficiency," said Sudhendu Kashikar, CEO of Reveal Energy Services.
The company is presenting two technical papers at URTeC: Estimation of Fracture Geometries From Poroelastic Pressure Responses in Offset Wells (URTeC 2886118) and Rapid Evaluation of Diverter Effectiveness From Poroelastic Pressure Response in Offset Wells (URTeC 2902114), coauthored with LINN Energy.
The patent-pending pressure-based data acquisition and processing, the foundation of the fracture maps, have had rapid market acceptance. Demand for the novel fracture maps, recognized with the prestigious E&P Special Meritorious Awards for Engineering Innovation, has increased 10 times over the past 18 months. From a base of 500 stages, IMAGE Frac pressure-based fracture maps are now field-proven in more than 5,000 stages.
The technology, which allows operators to make informed, better completion decisions with minimum operational risk and cost, powers five services:
-FracSCANSM technology to increase pad commercial value
-DiverterSCANSM technology to enhance fluid distribution
-DepletionSCANSM technology to reduce nonproductive fluid loss
-PerfSCANSM technology to improve cluster-spacing decisions
-ProppantSCANSM technology to optimize reservoir contact.
The company's geoscientists and completion engineers are demonstrating IMAGE Frac technology and the five services in URTeC booth 2121.
