Retired Air Force General Joins the SI's Strategic Advisory Council

CHANTILLY, Va., Nov. 9, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The SI Organization, Inc. (the SI) has added retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant General David A. Deptula to its Strategic Advisory Council.

General Deptula retired from active service in 2010, after serving as the first Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance for the U.S. Air Force.

General Deptula is a world-recognized pioneer in conceptualizing, planning and executing national security operations, from humanitarian relief to major combat operations. He has twice been a Joint Task Force Commander; was the principal attack planner for the Desert Storm air campaign; orchestrated air operations over Iraq in 1998/1999; in 2001 was the first Combined Air Operations Center commander for Afghanistan; and was the Joint Force Air Component Commander for the South Asia tsunami relief effort. As the first USAF Deputy Chief of Staff for ISR, he transformed ISR and remotely piloted aircraft enterprises, setting a standard emulated around the world.  He has piloted more than 3,000 hours (400 in combat) to include multiple command assignments in the F-15.
