Retired 4-star General, John Campbell Joins T-Worx Board
ASHBURN, Va., June 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- T-Worx Holdings, LLC, an innovative hardware and software company focused on commercializing intellectual property and products in the defense sector, announced today that retired Army 4-star General John F. Campbell will join the company's board of advisors.
Campbell retired from the U.S. Army in 2016 after 37 years of active service. He brings varied experience acquired during his distinguished career in the areas of national and international defense, strategic planning, workforce and operations management, capability development, economic programming and communication. Campbell served previously as the Vice Chief of Staff of the Army, the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, and as the Commanding General of the 101st Airborne Division and Combined Joint Task force 101. Drawing on these experiences, Campbell possesses unique insights into the Army's modernization strategy and the value of advanced technology for the warfighter and battlefield situational awareness.
"I reviewed the I-Rail technology with the T-Worx team, and I am convinced it is a powerful tool for battlefield situational awareness that also allows soldiers to manage and carry less battery weight," Campbell said. "I look forward to supporting the T-Worx Board and assisting the Company with its strategic direction and product plans."
T-Worx's flagship product, Intelligent Rail® (I-Rail™) offers a solution to the U.S. Army's number one Warfighting Challenge – a lack of situational awareness among ground troops in complicated battlefield conditions. I-Rail was recently named the NATO powered rail standard (STANAG 4740), following independent evaluation by Canadian MoD labs and the NATO Working Group.
Developed under the U.S. Army Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, I-Rail has been incrementally funded through Army SBIR and Research Development Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) appropriations.
The I-Rail team is currently preparing the product roadmap for military and commercial product releases in early 2018, and the product was recently included as an objective requirement for the Army's "Small Arms Fire Control Optic."
