Reticulate Micro Enters into Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with U.S. Special Operations Command

ST. LOUIS, Feb. 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Reticulate Micro, Inc. (OTCQB: RMXI) ("Reticulate Micro," "we," or the "Company"), a software products company specializing in advanced video compression and streaming solutions, today announced it has entered into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA #USSOCOM-SOF AT&L-ST–24–01–JS328) with U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) to advance tactical video communications through its innovative VAST video encoder platform.

VAST is a groundbreaking software-based video encoder platform that enables the streaming of high definition (HD) video over bandwidth-constrained tactical networks. Its AV1 compression technology delivers HD video at data rates as low as 200 kbps, and standard definition (SD) at 50 kbps. Unlike traditional video encoder systems requiring specialized hardware, VAST operates on standard x86 or Arm computing platforms – from servers to low-SWaP (size, weight, and power) single-board computers – significantly reducing both cost and complexity of deployments by military units.

Reticulate Micro has showcased VAST's breakthrough capabilities at recent demonstration events, including significant industry "firsts."

1. Streaming video over tactical UHF TACSAT and MUOS SATCOM during military exercises at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Tacoma, Washington.
   
   
2. Streaming UDP Multicast video over a 500-mile high-frequency (HF) radio link during a demonstration for the NAVWAR office of the U.S. Navy at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.

Through this CRADA, Reticulate Micro will be able to work directly with Special Operations Forces to incorporate real-world operational requirements as it further refines VAST's capabilities while maintaining robust security and commercial development rights.
