NEW YORK, May 4, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- Rethink Ed is partnering with Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) to offer comprehensive resources for students with autism and related disabilities during this critical time. Developed by nationally recognized experts in the field, the Rethink platform empowers educators to successfully incorporate strategies and supports into their students' virtual learning plans.
"We are thrilled to partner with M-DCPS to provide distance learning tools and curriculum supporting students with autism and other related disabilities," says Diana Frezza, Senior Vice President for Rethink ED. "During this critical time, we need to assist in enabling equitable instructional supports for students with special needs.
Rethink Ed provides on-demand and evidenced-based professional development videos, lesson plans, skills video models, and instructional resources and visuals to support the skills and behavior success of students with developmental delays. Students have access to an activity portal to practice key foundational skills at home. Educators and caregivers have access to a vast library of lessons and resources that are easily adaptable for 1:1 instruction at home. The program provides strategies and tools to develop coping skills, put in place a home behavior system, and build independence and engage children in learning during this time.
"Our commitment to our uniquely abled students is integral to the heart of all that M-DCPS stands for," said Miami-Dade Schools Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho. "We appreciate partners like Rethink Ed which assist us in empowering these very deserving students with a variety of innovative and helpful tools to successfully engage in distance learning."
