Retail Solutions Showcases Value Created at Customers, New Features at Target User Group
Gathering of over 30 Target Customers Described by Attendees as Actionable, Great Networking and Best Practice Sharing Opportunity
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Oct. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Global retail analytics leader Retail Solutions Inc. (RSi), announced today 34 of the top consumer packaged goods (CPG) Target teams attended their annual Target User Group session in Minneapolis, MN. Attendees representing over 150 of Target's competitive category classes reviewed newly added core product enhancements and tangible examples, presented by their peers, of how the RSi solutions enabled their respective companies to provide valuable insights and drive tangible operational and strategic improvements at Target.
Henry Li, Target Channel Director, RSi, showcased new features to enhance the user experience when utilizing RSi reports. "This is a very exciting time to be a part of this team and help our users fully capitalize on their data to drive better business results and growth at Target," remarked Li.
Presentations from CPG companies covered a wide range of best-in-class case studies. Steven Reinemund, Target Sales Lead of Danone's US business, mentioned, "I really love what RSi is doing with mobile. I think it's very unique," then strongly urged the audience to try the Mobile Reports, which enable users to dynamically interact with their reports in the store and with the retailer. Other suppliers echoed the sentiment saying that this new capability is a perfect fit for the needs of on-the-go managers.
Another newly-introduced business intelligence module, the RSi Heat Map, was noted as a "very powerful and visual tool" according to John Briggs, a Mondelez International Senior Category Manager. This feature provides users automated visualization of geographic trends based on preferred segmentation, and enabled Briggs to successfully profile snack flavor preferences across the United States to support Target's localization strategy.
Mondelez International and Danone both highlighted how the insights they were able to generate, thanks to the RSi tool's flexibility, helped their conversations with their Target counterparts. According to Reinemund, "The Heat Map has really helped [Danone] address in-stock and out-of-stock issues, send more inventory to top stores, and to get the pulse on what's going on in our business. It's one of the coolest features I've ever seen in a data visual... it saves me a tremendous amount of time, is very dynamic, and [Target] buyers love it."
Attendees also reviewed the internal usage of the recently released Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly Scorecards tracking key sales metrics across stores. Users emphasized the benefits of the timing of these reports since they are available before similar syndicated data. "These have been a game-changer for us in terms of our internal reporting," concluded Reinemund.
The User Group wrapped up that afternoon with a Q&A session and light refreshments. "Seeing the amazing value each customer generates from our solution is a moment of pride for our entire team," said Li. "The success of this user group was a direct result of the strong, collaborative efforts from the Target team and our customer teams, and will continuously improve the experience of guests at Target."
