Resurrection University's Men in Nursing Event

Resurrection University (ResU), a College of Nursing and a College of Allied Health, has an above-average enrollment of male nursing students and was recognized as a Best Nursing School for Men by the American Assembly of Men in Nursing (AAMN) in 2016.  ResU's male nursing student enrollment ranges from 17%-22% each semester.

"We are committed to providing healthcare education to a diverse learning community at Resurrection University.  More men are recognizing nursing as a fulfilling and challenging career path," said Resurrection University President, Therese A. Scanlan, EdD.  "As a nursing institution that was founded over 100 years ago we're committed to continually advancing the profession, and to educating nurses to meet the current needs of a diverse patient population which includes more male nurses."

The panel will speak candidly about the challenges and rewards of being men in nursing, as well as any stigmas or stereotypes they may face in this role which is traditionally dominated by women. They each have a personal perspective about the benefits of their careers, and can discuss the technical and clinical skills they use daily in their roles.
