'Restoring Tomorrow,' a Universal Story of Hope, Shows How We Can Reengage America's Disengaged Youth in This Special Event
Includes a Compelling Follow-Up Discussion About Next Steps For Individuals and Local Communities, Featuring Filmmaker Aaron Wolf Along With Some of America's Top Community and Faith Leaders
DENVER, Sept. 25, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- How do we reengage the disengaged? How do we start a conversation when our country is so divided? How do we come together in spite of our differences? These are the challenging questions facing cultural and religious institutions across the country. "Restoring Tomorrow" offers an answer. This award-winning documentary tells a universal story of hope, as it focuses on a landmark house of worship that was literally crumbling and a community's against-all-odds determination to restore it to new greatness. Film critic Leonard Maltin calls it "a genuinely inspiring film with a great story to tell that I found very moving."
Following the screening, audiences will join filmmaker Aaron Wolf and some of America's most dynamic personalities, including religious and community leaders, such as Pastor Tony Evans, actor Ashton Kutcher, Rabbi Stephen Leder, Pastor Rick Warren, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, and commentators Michael Medved and Dennis Prager for a dialogue about what comes next.
Tickets for "Restoring Tomorrow" can be purchased at www.FathomEvents.com and participating theater box offices.
Fathom Events and Howling Wolf Productions will bring "Restoring Tomorrow" to nearly 1000 select movie theaters through Fathom's Digital Broadcast Network (DBN). For a complete list of theater locations, visit the Fathom Events website (theaters and participants are subject to change).
The film's story is told through the eyes of its director, Aaron Wolf, who like so many other young people, had lost connection to his faith. But, in documenting the struggle and ultimate triumph of the restoration, he finds that he himself is restored. "Restoring Tomorrow" has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, Guideposts, and The Times of Israel, as well as on ABC and Fox television. Now, the movement truly begins in cinemas nationwide, November 13, 2018, during an inspiring one-night event that will show how the impossible can become a reality when a community resolves to reclaim its past and build for the future.
"While making the film, I felt I was becoming a catalyst for my generation, having lost connection with my roots and then finding wonderful new relevance in a place that had had so much meaning for me in my youth," said Wolf. "On a much larger scale, this film is really all about the connection that is possible when we are brought together by the places that truly matter to us. My journey shows what everyone can achieve if we dig down deep and reconnect with who we are and what we stand for."
"This film illuminates a path back to meaning and spiritual connection that can be followed by countless others of Wolf's disaffected generation," Fathom Events VP of Programming Nancy Silverstone said. "Fathom is eager to help bring such an inspiring and thought-provoking story such as 'Restoring Tomorrow' to cinemas nationwide."
Wolf added, "In a sense, this is what movie theaters do – bring people together. But, in the case of this film, they aren't being brought together to see a fictional action hero achieve impossible feats, but instead real-life heroes showing us the amazing things that are possible right outside our front door."
