Restaurants See Big Potential with Waitr's Web Ordering
Popular Food Delivery Service Launches New Platform
LAFAYETTE, La., April 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Restaurant partners of Waitr, the on-demand food delivery service, say they expect the company's new Web ordering platform to produce increased sales and attract a new audience. Waitr today announced it has added a new way to order food – right from any Web browser at http://waitrapp.com. Those restaurants already benefiting from the rapid success of the Waitr mobile app are relying on the same formula – albeit online – to boost revenue.
Results from Waitr's four-week test of the ordering platform are encouraging to its restaurant partners. "We found that most of the customers ordering from their Web browser were people who had never used the Waitr app," said Coco Pahl, Waitr Product Manager. "We're very excited to attract so many new customers with this platform – and pleased with the subsequent additional revenue our restaurant partners are enjoying as a result."
Chris Meaux, Waitr's CEO and founder, says the expansion of the platform is reflective of ongoing efforts to provide the best service to its customers and increase business for its restaurant partners. "We have seen our restaurant partners who link from their website to ours double their delivery business. We're excited to roll out this platform to our 2,000 restaurant partners and see it drive a new audience and incremental revenue to their bottom line."
Web ordering was specifically created to operate exactly like the Waitr smartphone app, and it is especially advantageous when used by large groups, offices and organizations. "There are no major differences in the way you order, but the experience is optimized for any web browser," Platform designer Brady Higginbotham explained. "In addition, it works in a symbiotic relationship with the app and is exceptionally user friendly."
The new ordering platform features easy-to-use menus and status reports that track the progress of the group's order, and group orders can be completed using multiple devices. Each participating individual places his/her order separately and the computer and phone app platforms are completely interchangeable within the same order.
The revamped website is also more robust, as it includes blogs, video and other interactive content where you can learn about the Waitr app and how it works, apply for a job or find out how to become a restaurant partner.
Waitr has received widespread acclaim for its distinct technology yielding faster door-to-door deliveries and more favorable pricing for consumers. It is the only company of its kind to include full-color photography of every menu item from all participating restaurants.
Launched in 2015, Waitr is an on-demand food delivery service and online restaurant technology platform designed to connect local restaurants to hungry consumers. Founded in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Waitr's mission is to develop the local food culture for communities across the United States by expanding the reach of local restaurant menus. Available on the Web, on iPhone and Android devices, Waitr is the most convenient way to discover, order and eat great food from the best local restaurants. Today, Waitr has 2,000 restaurant partners and hundreds of thousands of users in 18 cities across four states.
