"Restaurant.com has been helping independently owned restaurants thrive since 1999," said Restaurant.com President and Chief Marketing Officer, Christopher Krohn. "And for two weeks, we are asking consumers nationwide to join us in our mission to help communities prosper by visiting a great locally owned restaurant as part of our Dish Mobs events inspired by Andrew Samtoy's popular Cash Mobs events."
Lauded by thousands, Andrew Samtoy's Cash Mobs concept began in 2011 and encouraged community members to get together and spend money at independently owned businesses in their local communities. The Dish Mobs event concentrates Cash Mobs' goodwill on locally owned restaurants, helping them thrive and consumers finding neighborhood gems and community favorites.
National Dish Mob Events: September 24 – October 7
From September 24 through October 7, Restaurant.com and Andrew Samtoy are joining forces to invite all of America to dine local and will be hosting five designated Dish Mobs events in Chicago, Cleveland, Minneapolis, St. Louis and Denver. Organized by local community members, Restaurant.com will invite the community to gather at a local restaurant to show their support, fill tables, have a great meal and help the business and local community prosper. Restaurant.com and Samtoy will communicate the importance of dining local via a multi-channel approach including traditional and social media outreach as well as organized on-the-ground word-of-mouth via the Cash Mobs' existing network.
"Every day Restaurant.com does its part to fill tables at independently owned restaurants nationwide giving consumers a great deal and the restaurant a financial boost," said Andrew Samtoy, founder of Cash Mobs. "Teaming up gives us the ability to extend that reach and rejuvenate local restaurants. Through social media and word-of-mouth, we hope the camaraderie can spread to communities in other cities, too."
Participating in Dine Local Dish Mobs is also a delicious way to discover a great new restaurant, the best local bartender or the most decadent dessert just minutes from home.
