Responsive Classroom® Summer Workshops Registration Opens
Courses to be offered in 27 US and Two International Locations
TURNERS FALLS, Mass., Jan. 28, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Center for Responsive Schools, Inc. (CRS), the sole source provider of the Responsive Classroom approach to teaching, has opened registration for 2015 Summer Workshops. These workshops, designed for elementary educators, will be offered in a record number of 27 locations across the US, plus two international, including London and Rome. Workshops are being offered at the introductory level and advanced level, with the latter debuting a new format with two- or four–day options.
Educators who are new to Responsive Classroom can register for the Responsive Classroom Course. In this highly interactive four–day introductory workshop, participants will learn to use core Responsive Classroom practices including Morning Meeting, Interactive Modeling, Academic Choice, and more. Participants will discover how to engage students academically, build positive community, manage the classroom effectively, and use developmentally appropriate practices.
CRS is also offering a brand–new advanced course that will allow educators to deepen the skills they learned in the Responsive Classroom Course. The workshop is designed to give teachers more Responsive Classroom strategies to implement in their classrooms and strengthen the practices they're already using. It will be offered as two 2–day modules: Engaging Academics and Effective Management.
"We are thrilled to be offering an updated advanced level course," said Lora Hodges, Executive Director at CRS. "Teachers will become even more skilled at enabling students to develop strong academic, social, and emotional skills."
Attendance at Responsive Classroom workshops has grown tremendously in recent years, including increasing attendance among the international school community. This summer, CRS is expanding its reach by adding a second international location for 2015. "The addition of the London and Rome locations reflects the growing and vibrant community of Responsive Classroom and we will be able to reach more teachers and students than ever before," Hodges said. "Educators will be using Responsive Classroom worldwide to transform classrooms and schools into places of joyful learning for all."
