TURNERS FALLS, Mass., March 12, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- District and school leaders from across the U.S. and around the world who share a mission of creating a high-quality education for every child, every day, are invited to register for the 10th Annual Responsive Classroom Leadership Conference. The conference is slated for October 5 and 6 in Austin, Texas.
Highlighting the event will be a keynote address given by Cesar A. Cruz, a veteran teacher, author, activist, and Educational Leadership doctoral candidate at Harvard University. In addition to being a full-time student, Cesar is currently teaching Ethnic Studies at Harvard and serving as a development coach to MBA students at Harvard Business School. Cesar also co-founded the Homies Empowerment Program to serve gang impacted/involved youth in Oakland, CA, which he hopes to expand by creating a center to host after-school programs.
A diverse line-up of sessions, interactive workshops, and panel discussions will be led by experienced Responsive Classroom school and district leaders and consultants. While many favorite sessions from last year are included, 2015 will also feature new sessions, including: The Responsive Classroom Approach to Discipline, Sustaining the Vision of Responsive Classroom in Your School, Facilitated Planning Sessions, and more.
An entire session track will be dedicated to middle school leaders. Session topics in this track include: Creating a Developmentally Responsive Middle School, Energizing Classroom Instruction in Middle School, This is How We Talk: Creating a Culture of Learning in Middle School, and Rigorous Learning in Middle School.
