BROOMFIELD, Colo., July 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc. (RES Americas), a national leader in the development and construction of renewable energy projects, has been awarded the Balance of Plant (BOP) construction contract for the Flat Water Wind Project in Nebraska. The project will mark RES Americas' second wind energy project in the state.

As the project owner and operator, Flat Water Wind Farm, LLC ("Flat Water") selected RES Americas to be the BOP construction contractor. Flat Water recognized RES Americas' proposal to be the best value presented after a rigorous and competitive bidding process. The project company is associated with a tri-party partnership between Gallop Power, Gestamp Wind North America, a subsidiary of Gestamp Renewables (Gestamp Corporation) and Banco Santander, S.A.

Located in southern Nebraska's Richardson County and Kansas' Nemaha County, the 60 megawatt (MW) project will comprise 40 1.5 MW GE wind turbines and have the capacity to power over 16,000 homes with clean, renewable energy. Construction is underway with completion scheduled for December 2010.
