Rep. Virginia Foxx Discusses GOP Platform on Washington Watch with Tony Perkins
WASHINGTON, June 15, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Yesterday, Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-N.C.), co-chair of the Republican Platform Committee, appeared on Washington Watch with Tony Perkins, a national radio show which airs on more than 240 stations across the country. On the show, Rep. Foxx discussed her optimism about preserving conservative principles in the party platform.
In the interview, Rep. Virginia Foxx explained, "We are telling the American people, here are the beliefs, the philosophies, the principles, of the Republican Party… When we run on our principles, we win in this country. The American people, the majority of them, are with us."
Rep. Foxx went on to say, "We believe that if we give the American people a clear choice, and they vote for our candidates, they vote for our Senators, our House Members, and our presidential candidate, that we then will have a mandate from the American people to move forward with the principles that we are espousing."
Family Research Council Action President Tony Perkins, the host of Washington Watch, responded, "As one of our mutual heroes used to say, 'Peace through strength.' Going into the convention with strength to defend those principles may very well ensure we have peace," concluded Perkins.
