Rep. Fattah's Statement on Emergency Aid for Refinery Workers

PHILADELPHIA, March 26, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA-02) issues this statement concerning efforts to assist laid-off workers at Philadelphia-area refineries:

"The Obama Administration has done the right thing by dispatching a $5 million emergency grant to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor to assist the men and women forced out of work by the closing of local ConocoPhillips and Sunoco refineries. The best jobs and recovery program for these 1,000 workers and for our region will be to find buyers for the refineries. I will continue to work with Members of Congress and other stakeholders to bring about that outcome."
