Rep. Fattah Calls Arizona Immigration Law 'a Mean-Spirited Invitation to Racial Profiling'
WASHINGTON, April 27 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Congressman Chaka Fattah (D-PA) issues this statement on the new Arizona immigration law:
"Arizona's ugly new immigration law is not only a mean-spirited invitation to racial profiling, it is of questionable constitutionality. The Obama Administration is doing the right thing – subjecting this capricious statute to legal and constitutional scrutiny.
"Immigration and borderland policies in our great, diverse nation are certainly in need of repair, but it must happen at the federal level. We can't have every state writing its own immigration policies. Racial profiling is un-American. Protecting everyone's civil rights is the law of the land – for all 50 states, including Arizona."
