Rentrak Signs National Geographic Channel to New Video-On-Demand AdEssentials® Service

PORTLAND, Ore., Jan. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Rentrak Corporation (Nasdaq: RENT), the leader in multi-screen media measurement serving the advertising, television and entertainment industries, today announced a contract with National Geographic Channel for access to Rentrak's new AdEssentials service. Rentrak's AdEssentials offers an ad reporting system that eliminates the time consuming manual approach to track and report video-on-demand (VOD) advertising performance.
Responding to the need for reliable and timely VOD information, Rentrak launched the OnDemand Essentials service in 2005. Today, OnDemand Essentials is the industry currency in VOD measurement and research providing clients throughout North America with instant access to the tools needed to track on-demand content, trends and consumer behavior. Used as a companion service to OnDemand Essentials, Rentrak's AdEssentials is the first system to offer third party reporting and verification of advertising impressions delivered on the video on-demand platform.
