PORTLAND, Ore., Feb. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Rentrak (NASDAQ: RENT), the leader in precisely measuring movies and TV everywhere, has produced an analysis of Super Bowl XLIX, focusing on advertising exposure.
According to Rentrak's Ad Retention Index, which looks at the second-by-second viewing average for each commercial compared to the entire program (chart below), ad exposure was nearly equal to viewership of the entire game.
Graph of Ad Viewing Index
Results show that audience levels rose during the tight contest, which came down to the final seconds. The most-watched ads of the game were from Wix and Victoria's Secret, which each ran at 9:51 p.m. EST before the game's final drive. Wix had a 110 index and Victoria Secret's had a 109 index compared to the average rating of the entire game.
Rentrak will post indexes for all ads, as well as their social media scores, on its website later today.
