Renters on Zillow Have Competitive Edge with New Renter Profile
More than 1.2 Million renters are using Zillow's Renter Profile to quickly engage with landlords and property managers
SEATTLE, June 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- In many markets across the country, renters face stiff competition and are under incredible pressure to act quickly when searching for a new home. Now, with the addition of a new feature called Renter Profile, renters searching Zillow® can get all of their pertinent information in front of a landlord or property manager faster and easier than ever before. In the two months since renter profiles have been available on Zillow, 1,210,000 Renter Profiles have been created.
With this tool, renters searching for properties on Zillow can create a personal profile outlining their renter qualifications, including personal bio, reason for moving, self-reported credit score, employment, references, and any desired amenities. The profile is created only once, but can then be shared with multiple landlords and property managers, helping them stand out and move quickly once they discover a rental property they are interested in.
"As inventory remains tight and demand grows, there's more competition than ever in the rentals market -- which is why it's imperative for renters to be able to act fast and jump on listings they're interested in," said Jeremy Wacksman, Zillow chief marketing officer. "Most landlords are inundated with multiple inquiries for each property, so a renter's best strategy to stand out is to engage first and provide a complete picture of their unique qualifications. By offering this feature, we're helping renters reach out to more landlords with less effort, eliminating some of the stress that comes with searching in a competitive market."
Zillow also helps renters search quickly and competitively with a dedicated renter mobile app, up-to-the-minute time-stamped listings, saved searches and sorting features based on home type, price, location or amenities.
