Rental properties around Miami University (Ohio) campus offered at auction

OXFORD, Ohio, Oct. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Homes, duplexes, an apartment complex and other properties near the Miami University (Ohio) campus – most of which have been used as rentals – will be offered at auction Saturday, Nov. 15. Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company will manage the auction.

The properties, which include 74 rental units, are being offered in 21 tracts that can be bought individually or in combination, according to Andy Walther, auction manager for Schrader. Many are leased through the current school year, he said.

"This portfolio of investment properties was accumulated over time but is now being sold under a court order. This presents a number of interesting possibilities, because bidders can make offers on any combination. We may have some investors seeking the entire portfolio, others seeking just one or two properties, or someone looking for a home," said Walther.

The auction format, he noted, allows bidders to compete on an equal footing regardless of how many properties they are seeking to buy.

The auction will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at Marcum Conference Center. Online bidding will be available by prior registration.

Auction personnel will be available at Marcum Conference Center from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, to provide detailed information.
