"With Best Buy being at the top of their game and us being at the top of ours, it only made sense for us to join forces and reach out to all of our fans who can't make it out to our California headquarters. So, we created the '7 Steps of Customization' at your local participating Best Buy," said Ryan Friedlinghaus, CEO of West Coast Customs. "I picked out a hand full of Geek Squad Autotechs from around southern California Best Buys to participate in the '7 Steps of Customization' boot camp at the world famous West Coast Customs. After the boot camp, I tested the Geek Squad Autotechs on applying the seven steps for an unsuspecting Best Buy employee."
"Discovery Channel came to us with the 'ultimate hot dog cart' build as a sign of appreciation for Isidro of Augie Doggie who saved many lives in the hostage crisis at Discovery Channel in September of 2010. So, we gave this cart a complete makeover and made it the best of the best," said Friedlinghaus. "To start it off, we wrapped the cart in red vinyl with a WCC and Augie Doggie pattern to make it stand out from the crowd, and we added custom fenders and low profile wheels. We installed two outdoor HD TVs — one for the customers and one for our hot dog hero. We also included an outdoor sound system and an XBOX for the slower times. To keep this all powered up, we included a 4,000-watt generator. Because this is the ultimate hot dog cart, we put in a classic steamer for the buns as well as a Char-Broil grill. For shade, we put awnings all the way around that close up at the end of the day for protection. To top it off, we put a customized-3D sign above it so that everyone will know where to get the best hot dogs in town."
Friedlinghaus and his shop have been doing exclusive custom builds for the MTV show Pimp my Ride, TLC's Street Customs, Street Customs Berlin and now on his new show on Discovery's HD Theater, Inside West Coast Customs. WCC is world-renowned for their extreme vehicles, outrageous features and unique designs.
Check out Inside West Coast Customs Sunday at 9 p.m. EDT on Discovery Channel's HD Theater, and on Fridays at 11 a.m. EDT on Discovery Channel.
