RELM Wireless Receives FCC Authorization for its P25 800 MHz KNG Portable Radio

WEST MELBOURNE, Fla., Aug. 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- RELM Wireless Corporation (NYSE: AMEX - RWC) announced today that its P25 digital portable radio, the KNG P800, has received equipment authorization from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for use in the United States.  The KNG P800 provides interoperability under the Project 25 standard (P25) established by the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials - International (APCO).

The KNG P800 operates in the 800MHz frequency band.  It joins RELM's other KNG portable and mobile models in addressing the requirements of government and public safety professionals, and incorporates the same impressive array of features offered in our entire KNG line.
