Relevant Communications Client Ken Esrig Becomes Associate Producer Of "WILD OATS" Starring Shirley MacLaine, Jon Voight And Jack Black

BOCA RATON, Fla., Sept. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Ken Esrig, founder and CEO of South Florida-based MIST Productions, www.mistproductions.net/ken, has agreed to sign on as Associate Producer of WILD OATS, a film, directed by Howard Deutch, and starring Oscar Award-winning actress Shirley MacLaine, along with Jacki Weaver, Alan Arkin, Jon Voight, Jack Black and Maria Bello.

Esrig, a successful entrepreneur who has funded numerous industry projects, is currently seeking out $4 million in funding to begin production of the film scheduled for domestic release in 2013. 

WILD OATS stars Eva (Shirley MacLaine), a widow and retired history teacher who enjoys a quiet life in the tiny town of Liberty, Ohio. Everything changes when Eva receives a life insurance check accidentally made out for $5,000,000 instead of the expected $50,000.  Eva and her friend Maddie (Jacki Weaver), escape to Las Vegas to live it up.

But their fantasy is short-lived when they awake to discover that they have become media sensations overnight and fugitives from justice.  What they did not expect is to be good at it.

WILD OATS has entered into a deal with The Weinstein Company for domestic distribution in a minimum 250 screen / 25 top markets.  They plan to expand the deal after production has been completed.     

The film is accessing the foreign sales market via a traditional campaign managed by foreign-sales agent Stealth Media.
