Rekha Skantharaja named President of Tangram Insurance Services
PETALUMA, Calif., May 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Tangram Insurance Services, a Managing General Agency, recently announced that Rekha Skantharaja has been promoted to President of the Company.
Skantharaja has over a decade of experience in the insurance industry with both the brokerage and underwriting sides of the business. Her career began in San Francisco in 2001, assembling management liability programs for Fortune 1000 companies both publicly and privately held in industries such as technology, bio-tech, e-commerce and venture capital.
She was named Vice President of Business Development in 2005 for an insurance company's specialty and commercial business units, cultivating strategic retailer relationships and expanding the company's agency distribution and national footprint. Her initial efforts were in the healthcare niche and later expanded to entertainment, ocean marine, public entities, bio-tech, and others.
In 2009, Skantharaja assumed the position of Senior Vice President of Tangram Insurance Services, a Managing General Agent company. In this role she was responsible for business development, operations and underwriting.
This made her a natural fit to become the President of Tangram in 2013. Tangram has been a very successful MGA for over a decade, experiencing substantial growth over the past three years. Skantharaja will be working to expand the company's existing programs, as well as to develop new programs nationally.
