Reid Berch and Joseph Lagano join Avison Young on Long Island, New York

Industrial and airport real estate specialists to further elevate local market profile

NEW YORK CITY, July 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ - Arthur Mirante, Avison Young Principal and Tri-State President, announced today that highly regarded commercial real estate industry veterans Reid Berch and Joseph Lagano have joined the company on Long Island, New York.

Effective immediately, Berch becomes a Principal of Avison Young and Lagano a senior director. They will continue to work as a team while expanding the firm's industrial sales and leasing services throughout the region and specializing in the real estate needs of clients on Long Island and, particularly, at John F. Kennedy International (JFK).

Berch brings more than 30 years of commercial real estate experience to Avison Young, while Lagano has worked in the industry for 14 years. Both join the company from Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) on Long Island, where Berch was an executive vice-president and Lagano was an associate vice-president.

Berch and Lagano currently represent more than 1.8 million square feet of warehouse, air cargo, distribution and office space at JFK on behalf of Prologis Inc., TA Realty and Terreno Realty LLC. From 2000 to 2016, the team successfully completed more than 950 leases and sales in Queens and at JFK. Of particularly note are the sale of Bloomingdale's 640,000-square-foot (sf) facility in Long Island City, and the sale of the 292,000-sf Airgate Industrial Park to Prologis, Inc.

Both Berch and Lagano have been top producers during most of their years in the industry. Berch is an active member of the Commercial Industrial Brokers Society (CIBS) as well as the JFK Chamber of Commerce. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in management information systems from Ramapo University.

Lagano is presently a member of the board of the Long Island chapter of CIBS, as well as a member of the JFK Chamber of Commerce. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in business management from the New York Institute of Technology.
