BRUSSELS, April 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
- EFQM Launches First Global Sustainability Good Practice Competition
EFQM has launched a sustainability competition to identify and share Good Practices that demonstrate how organisations balance ecological, social and economic drivers. Research amongst executives from top organisations, including Philips, Ricoh, Robert Bosch GmbH, and Solvay; has confirmed that balancing "People, Planet Profit" is a top business priority in 2011. To enter the competition organisations are asked to upload a video onto a website (https://sites.google.com/site/efqmgoodpracticecompetition/home), from which a jury and the public define the winner.
EFQM's CEO, Mr. Pierre Cachet comments: "Today, everyone recognises that sustainability is a major challenge but there is currently no agreement on what needs to be done. Following the crash, I think everyone recognises the need for greater transparency but without stifling creativity, innovation and competition. Moreover, with the new UN Charter on Business and Human Rights and an announcement on EU legislation expected later this year, we hope we'll be able to provide some clear guidance and examples on how to best manage your triple bottom line."
To enter the competition, organisations are asked to upload a video onto a website, publicly visible. A jury, with representatives from industry experts, including the European Academy for Business in Society, will identify a short list of finalists. The public can vote for their favourites on the website ( https://sites.google.com/site/efqmgoodpracticecompetition/home). The winner will represent its Good Practice at the EFQM Forum, a prestigious networking event attracting more than 350 senior managers, subject experts and executives at BMW Welt in October 2011.
