Registration Opens for Game::Business::Law 2012

January 25-26, 2012 Event at SMU in Dallas to Host Video Game and Legal Industries' Leaders

DALLAS, Aug. 11, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Registration is now open for the 4^th Annual Game::Business::Law Summit on January 25 – January 26, 2012. The event will be held at Southern Methodist University, Dedman School of Law and is hosted by The Guildhall at SMU, SMU's Dedman School of Law and The Center for American and International Law.

Registration covers two days of panels and speakers delving into trends and legal issues specific to the video games industry. The Game::Business::Law Summit brings top game industry business development leaders, developers, publishers, lawyers and members of the venture capital and financial industry from around the world.

On day one, the keynote address will be delivered by Ted Price, President and CEO of independent game developer Insomniac Games, Inc. The company is probably best known as developer of the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Ratchet & Clank and Resistance video game franchises. In his anticipated keynote, Price will discuss the strategy behind their social games subsidiary, Insomniac Click. Insomniac is headquartered in Burbank, CA and has a second studio in Durham, NC.

On the second day, up and coming developers should attend the two-hour games funding forum by the Texas Entrepreneur Network. A panel of attorneys, video game business development officials, and venture capitalists will evaluate four organizations' requests for funding to hopefully bring their projects to life.
