MINNEAPOLIS, Sept. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 295,000 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014. As part of Regis Corporation's (NYSE: RGS) year-round efforts to help raise money and awareness for breast cancer research, the company is pleased to announce that its annual Clip for the Cure haircutting event will take place Saturday, October 18, 2014.
Every year, more than 7,000 Regis salons and more than 50,000 stylists host Clip for the Cure, which is held during Breast Cancer Awareness month in October. To take part in the event, simply visit a participating Regis corporate salon on Saturday, October 18 and get a haircut. Regis will donate 10% of proceeds from each haircut to the Regis Foundation for Breast Cancer Research, which supports early diagnosis, prevention, treatment and research to find a cure for breast cancer.
Regis Corp. also offers other opportunities to take part in this important cause. Throughout September and October, participating salons are selling breast cancer awareness products including $3 rings and $12 bracelets. In addition, salons will accept guest and business cash donations to the Foundation.
