Regency Conversions Expands into the Motorhome Market with the Concept One Class B Motor Home Built in Texas on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Platform
FORT WORTH, Texas, Feb. 9, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Wayne Davis Auto Group, LLC is pleased to introduce its 2017 Regency RV lineup of Concept One Class B motorhomes built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis. The company expanded in 2016 from Regency Conversions, one of the best-known up-fitters of lifted, off-road pickups and SUVs in the country, with its new Regency RV division building ultra-luxurious motor coaches on the popular Mercedes diesel platform.
After acquiring its Mercedes-Benz Master Up-fitter Certification in just four months in early 2016, Regency RV went into production for the Concept One motor coach from its newly retooled Fort Worth, Texas production facilities. With the 2017 Concept One rollout, the company is now in full production of this distinctive new offering.
The Regency RV management team Owner and CEO, Wayne Davis; President, Alan Osicka; and Vice President of Sales, Nick Carter, has over 100 years of automotive industry expertise between them. The three once managed Regency Van Conversions, which they grew from 175 units monthly in 1995, to 800 units per month by 2001. At that time the Regency Van brand was recognized as the largest volume up-fitter of vans, trucks, and SUVs in the United States. In 2006 the Owner and President of Regency, Wayne Davis, sold the van conversion firm.
Today, Nick Carter, vice president of sales for the new Regency RV, explained the differences inherent in the new firm and in its unique Class B motorhome offering.
"What separates us from most Class B builders in the industry today is that we are not interested in doing high-production runs," said Carter. "You see our new coaches are all handmade. At this point in our careers we're more focused on quality, not quantity. Our new Regency RV is a different endeavor. We are rethinking the Class B market and attempting to build a coach that stands out as unique from what is already out there."
Industry veteran and President of the new Regency RV, Alan Osicka, also heads up the manufacturing and operations for the firm. He further explained the Regency RV advantage: "We're ahead of the competition from the start with a high-end chassis from Mercedes already equipped with factory navigation, backup camera systems and other enhanced features," he said. "You'd have to see our new facilities to truly understand our processes, but we craft everything in-house. From the building, hand-sanding, staining and finishing of our American beech wood cabinets, to handcrafted real leather upholstery, to painting all components to match, computer designing and printing our graphics, even tinting our own glass, it's all done in-house."
