Regal Beloit Appoints New Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
BELOIT, Wis., Sept. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Regal Beloit Corporation (NYSE: RBC) announced today the appointment of Peter C. Underwood as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, effective September 27, 2010. Mr. Underwood will be responsible for all legal activities and will report directly to Henry Knueppel, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Underwood comes to Regal Beloit from the Milwaukee office of Foley & Lardner LLP, where he was a partner specializing in mergers and acquisitions, securities laws, reporting compliance, and corporate governance. He has extensive experience with a wide variety of domestic and international corporate transactions, with a particular focus on advising public and private manufacturing businesses.
Mr. Underwood received his bachelor's degree in international relations (Soviet area studies) from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 1992, where he was also named to the Academic All Big Ten football team. Mr. Underwood studied Russian language and culture at Moscow State University in Moscow, Russia in 1992 before earning his J.D. degree from Harvard Law School in 1996.
