MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., April 11, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Refresh, the industry leader in insights about people, has announced that it is coming out of beta and has been featured in Best New Apps on the AppStore.
Refresh analyzes profiles, statuses, and events across social networks to generate snapshots of the people on your calendar. The snapshots provide more than just information. Refresh's insights surface the most relevant details and provide critical context, making conversations deeper and richer.
Since receiving $10M in Series A funding from Redpoint Ventures, Charles River Ventures, and Foundation Capital in October, the company has seen higher than expected engagement from its beta users. Professionals even refer to the app as their "super power" because it helps them forge stronger bonds and find common ground with the people they are meeting.
During the beta period, the team at Refresh gathered and analyzed quantitative behavior data to isolate two common stressors that significantly impact one's ability to meaningfully connect during a meeting. The first is the anxiety of remembering critical information just before a meeting starts, such as background information, previous conversations, or people in common. The second is the anxiety of forgetting personal facts shared during the conversation, like mutual friends, kids' names, or where someone went to school.
To alleviate these, Refresh spent the beta period refining features and functions that help people remember key details right before meetings and to jot down important notes and memories after their meetings. The app culls insights from a vast sea of online information to capture important facts, and then helps users remember follow-ups for every conversation.
Refresh is being featured this week on the AppStore under Best New Apps and also in the Productivity, Social Networking and Business categories.
"Every week, I get a bevy of emails from users sharing stories of how Refresh enhanced a relationship or saved them from a social faux pas. Sometimes it's that we helped them remember a spouse's name; other times it's informing them of a recent vacation for the person they are meeting. In either case, we're excited that people are using our app to make themselves better friends, colleagues, salespeople, managers, coaches, consultants, leaders, organizers, and more," says Bhavin Shah, Co-founder and CEO.
While in beta, Refresh also added features to take the work out of professional introductions by sending each recipient rich insights about each other. Other features include Follow-ups, Ask a friend, and sending a business card with personalized insights.
Refresh supports integration with native iOS calendar and contacts, Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo, Exchange, and Evernote. It pulls data from 100 sources around the web, including Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Google+, Foursquare, and Klout. Users can view their calendar and send email from directly within the app.
