The Redskins' team is considered to be the National Football League's second-most valuable franchise behind its arch-rival Dallas Cowboys. Players are anticipating a winning season under head coach Mike Shanahan and a roster that includes Heisman Trophy winner and quarterback Robert Griffin III. Pre-season injuries, however, have added uncertainty to the team's prospects.
Meanwhile, officials in the District of Columbia and Maryland are trying to lure the team's summer training camp to their jurisdictions. That competition comes in the wake of Redskins owner Dan Snyder's decision to relocate the camp from northern Virginia to Richmond in 2013.
The National Press Club luncheon will being promptly at 12:30 p.m. Remarks will being at 1 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session, ending at 2 p.m. Advance reservations should be made by calling 202-662-7501 or e-mailing [email protected].
